29.       The President shall say to the Guide:

  30.       "You will now place the candidate before me
  31.   for the obligation." The Guide advances with the
  32.   candidate and places her/him in front of the
  33.   President's station. All newly elected members
  34.   before being admitted to full membership shall
  35.   subscribe to the following obligation:

  37.   pledge my honor to faithfully observe the Consti-

1. tution and laws of this Union and the Constitution
2. of the United States (or Canada, as the case may
3. be); to comply with all the rules and regulations
4. for the government thereof; not to divulge or make
5. known any private proceedings of this Union; to
6. faithfully perform all the duties assigned to me to
7. the best of my ability and skill; to so conduct my-
8. self at all times as not to bring reproach upon my
9. Union, and at all times to bear true and faithful
10. allegiance to the International Union, UNITED
